Remembering David Yarborough
David Miller Yarborough, born on June 13th, 1950, passed suddenly of heart complications on July 29, 2023, in Charlotte, NC.
David was a dedicated and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His charisma and zest for life were evident to all who met him. His magnetism resulted in many lifelong relationships. Curiosity about the world and a keen interest in people energized his days.
He loved a good story, a unique idea, a clever business plan, and sharing a meal with loved ones. David was a true Renaissance man — a world traveler, a talented writer, a fierce tennis player, a crafter of perfect travel itineraries, an exceptional companion, and a problem solver. He was an oenophile, an epicure, a sports fanatic, and a Wall Street Journal consumer.
He always responded to personal and family challenges with patience, wisdom, and humility. He lived a remarkable life that he celebrated, and he will not tolerate our pity or long mourning.
He was preceded in death by his father JC Yarborough and his mother Sara Yarborough. He is survived by his wife Allie Wall; children Zoe (Matthew) and Eli; his siblings Charlotte (Bill), Marty (Karen), and Dean (Sandy); and many loving nieces and nephews.
Because our family proudly supports local recovery centers, we request that memorial gifts go to the McLeod Centers For Wellbeing. (mcleodcenters.org/wp/donate/)
The family held an informal celebration of life at one of David's most beloved places, the Myers Park Country Club Tennis Center, on Friday, August 4th, 2023.
A collection of thoughts, memories, and stories from loved ones
I am so sorry to hear about David. He was always such an enthusiastic movie critic in our movie group. It’s been three years now that we have been meeting virtually and you all would join us from wherever you were, even while on the road.
